ONI is the lowest surface-mounted profile in the LUMINES range: a 14.4 × 6.5 mm section with a 12.5 mm internal channel. Supplied as a 3 m length in black, catalogue number 10-1762-30. 6.5 mm tall — that is the whole point A surface-mounted profile always stands proud. The question is by how much. 6.5 mm is less than the thickness of a typical worktop and less than the shadow line under a kitchen cabinet, so under a cabinet front, on a shelf edge, inside a bookcase recess or in a skirting detail the profile effectively disappears and only the light remains. That is the sole reason to choose ONI over a wider profile with better heat dissipation. The 12.5 mm channel takes LED strips up to 12 mm wide — which covers practically every standard 8 mm and 10 mm strip and most 12 mm ones. Check your strip's width including the adhesive layer and any silicone sleeve; an IP65 strip in a silicone sleeve is often 1–2 mm wider than its nominal figure. What you get for the price — and what you do not This is the bare profile: a 3-metre length of aluminium. No cover, no end caps, no clips, no LED strip and no driver. A complete system is assembled from separately bought LUMINES parts: LEAN cover (PC), 3 m: transparent 11-3480-30, milky 11-3481-30, frosted 11-3482-30. Transparent passes the most light but lets individual diodes show; milky hides them at the cost of some output. End caps: anodised silver aluminium — without hole 12-1955-10, with hole 12-1955-11; 2-in-1 ABS with a routed hole — white 12-1901-01, black 12-1902-01, inox 12-1903-01, grey 12-1904-01, lacquered silver 12-1905-01. ONI mounting clip: white 13-1091-02, black 13-1132-02, silver 14-2028-86. Suspension kits (pendant mounting): white 14-2075-00, black 14-2076-00, silver 14-2011-02. Four ways to mount it The manufacturer allows for screws, double-sided tape, the ONI clip and a suspension kit — ONI is rated not only as a surface profile but as a suspended one, which lets you build a thin line of light below a ceiling. A hinge is also available where the profile has to swing. Limitations to know before buying Joinable: NO. Lengths cannot be coupled into one continuous run. For an installation longer than 3 m you either accept a visible break between lengths or order a made-to-measure length up to 6 m. The driver goes outside the profile. At 6.5 mm high there is no room for it — plan where to hide it. Walk-on / drive-over: NO. This profile is not intended for floors that are walked or driven on. Ingress protection: IP20 as supplied. The manufacturer classes the profile as sealable — with a sealing kit it reaches IP68, but that kit is a separate purchase and a separate installation technique. Buying the profile alone, you are buying the IP20 version. Beam direction: perpendicular to the mounting plane. Glare rating UGR: basic — for decorative lighting, not for office workstations. Finish The manufacturer describes ONI's black inconsistently: the data sheet says "CZARNY (anodowany) / black (anodized)", while the colour table on the LUMINES website says "Czarny / lakierowany" (lacquered). The practical difference: anodising is an oxide layer grown into the metal and is hard to scratch, whereas lacquer sits on the surface and can chip at a sharp edge when the length is cut. Treat the cut edge carefully whichever version arrives. The rest of the ONI system The same profile comes in 1.0 m / 2.02 m / 3.0 m and to order up to 6 m, in five finishes: white lacquered (10-1761-xx), black (10-1762-xx), anodised inox (10-1763-xx), anodised silver (10-1764-xx) and raw (10-1760-xx). The number's suffix is the length: -10 = 1 m, -20 = 2.02 m, -30 = 3 m.
