OVALIS is a wall light shaped as a flattened oval metal tube finished in brushed matt gold, the same outside and inside. The tube is open at the top and at the bottom, so the light leaves it as two beams: one up the wall, one down. Dimensions and mounting The fitting is 20 cm high, 16 cm wide and stands 8 cm off the wall. The height cannot be adjusted — the manufacturer gives the same figure as both minimum and maximum, so the mounting position alone decides where the light sits. At the back there is a square metal plate of 8 × 3 × 8 cm in the same gold finish; it covers a standard flush box, and the manufacturer includes the installation materials. The fitting is electrical class I, so it needs an earthed connection, and it is intended for indoor use only. How much light it gives Inside are two E14 lampholders rated up to 9 W each — one firing upwards, one downwards. Bulbs are not included, so brightness and colour are yours to choose; two lamps of roughly 400 lm each add up to about what one old 60 W bulb gave, split into two beams. Through the open ends of the tube you see the inside of the fitting and the lamp itself, which is why the manufacturer recommends a clear decorative LED, the P45 at 4 W and 2700 K. That is advice about appearance rather than a requirement: a frosted lamp will light just as well, it will simply read differently. The light can be dimmed, but two separately bought items are needed for it: a dimmer in the circuit and a lamp described as dimmable. The fitting has no control electronics of its own — the manufacturer lists an ordinary light switch as the control. Construction The body is metal, brushed and electro-galvanized. Because the inside of the tube carries the same gold as the outside, a lit lamp brightens it and the rims of the openings glow a warmer shade than the rest of the shape.Mostrar mais
