TODAY is an outdoor display luminaire for wall mounting: a straight round arm and a wedge-shaped head with a ribbed underside, all in painted aluminium finished white. The head is held by a clamp with a wing screw, visible where the arm enters the body. The manufacturer also lists this model in black and in silver-grey. How much wall it takes and how far it reaches out The fitting projects 66.6 cm from the wall, stands 23.2 cm high and 17.7 cm wide, and weighs 1.785 kg. Compare that projection with the width of the sign, display case or stretch of facade you want to light, and with the space the fitting may occupy above it. The head tilts vertically through 90°, so the angle of incidence is set after the arm is fixed, without moving the wall plate. Outdoor operation and care IP65 means fully dust-tight and protected against water jets from every direction, and impact class IK02 corresponds to a 0.2 joule blow. The manufacturer specifies an ambient range of -25 °C to +35 °C. Clean the housing on the outside only, with a lightly dampened cloth - a pressure washer is ruled out, and the ventilation and drainage openings have to stay clear. Acidic surroundings, air with a high salt content, cleaning agents, fertiliser, road salt and chemicals all act unfavourably on the fitting, which matters when mounting near the sea or beside a road that is gritted in winter. Sealing the product yourself, with silicone for instance, is ruled out. Connection and the character of the light The fitting is safety class I and is wired permanently with a protective earth conductor - there is no plug, so a qualified electrician carries out the installation. The design allows through-wiring, so several fittings can run from one supply line. The 4000 K light colour is neutral, without warm yellow or cool blue, so the colours of the lit surface stay readable after dark. Distribution is direct and symmetrical and the half beam angle is 140°: a wide spread that floods the whole plane rather than a narrow shaft.
