OMI 1189 is a small ceiling light by Zuma Line: an opal glass shade shaped like a flattened egg, seated on a polished gold ring that screws to the ceiling. The glass is opaque, so what shows through is diffused light rather than the bulb itself. How big it is and where it fits The fitting is 15 cm across and stands 12 cm out from the ceiling. That is closer to a wall light than to a living-room ceiling fixture: over a narrow hallway, in a dressing room or above a bed it takes up no space, but on its own it will not light a large room. It weighs 0.36 kg net, so it mounts straight onto a standard ceiling box with no extra reinforcement. The shade lifts off the gold base, which is how you reach the bulb. What bulb it needs There is one G9 socket for 230 V, and the producer allows a bulb of no more than 5 W, specifying an LED source. No bulb is supplied, so brightness and colour of the light depend on what you buy: 2700 K gives warm, slightly yellow light like an old incandescent, 4000 K is noticeably cooler and more workmanlike. The 5 W ceiling also caps how bright it can get. One such point works as secondary light, or as one of several fittings spaced along a corridor, rather than as the only light in a room. Materials and interiors The base is metal with a polished gold finish, the shade is white glass. Those two materials together, with no ornament at all, make a plain modern shape whose only accent is the glint of the gold ring against the ceiling. The producer intends it for a living room, a bedroom, a dining room and a hallway.
