BERANGA Bollard Light Luces Exclusivas LE62057
BERANGA is a low garden bollard in which the material does the talking. The shaft is cast from a mineral mix of sandstone and cement, so the surface carries a distinctly grainy texture and a cool grey tone - it reads as a piece of stone rather than painted metal. At 50 cm it never towers over a border or a paved surface: it marks the line of the path and puts light exactly where it is wanted, at your feet. Stone instead of painted metal Three parts make up the shape. A flat round cap, 11,5 cm across and 3 cm thick, covers the LED module. Below it runs a slender, gently tapering shaft, separated from the cap by a black ring - and that gap is where the light comes out. The whole thing stands on a graphite base 10,5 cm across and 3,5 cm high, with the fixing screws left visible. The grainy sandstone finish sits comfortably next to concrete paving, gabions, bark mulch and ornamental grasses. Unlike powder-coated aluminium it does not show chips or scratches - small marks of use simply disappear into the natural structure of the material. Light aimed downwards, no glare The light source is a permanently built-in 5 W LED module, supplied with the fitting. It runs at a warm white 3000 K, which gives the grey stone a warmer cast and keeps greenery and timber from turning bluish. The diodes are hidden under the cap and point downwards, onto the shaft and the surface around the bollard. At eye level you see no bright point, only a lit stretch of path. This is orientation and mood lighting, not area lighting. One bollard marks one spot - a doorway, a bend in the path, the corner of a terrace. Guiding a longer run takes several units spaced at regular intervals. Installation and durability The fitting runs straight off 230 V mains, so no driver or low-voltage system is needed. The supply cable does have to be routed underground and connected by a qualified electrician. The base is pre-drilled: the bollard bolts down onto a solid surface - a concrete footing, a terrace slab or a paver. IP65 means fully dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, so rain, snow and garden sprinklers are covered. It is not a rating for immersion, so it is worth avoiding spots where water stands after heavy rain.
