AWE 33 is a round ceiling light 34.5 cm across, with an opal glass shade held at the rim by a chrome ring. The shape is smooth and undecorated — that ring is the only bright element. The fitting has a built-in LED module and stands 8.5 cm below the ceiling. The manufacturer also makes the same model in matt nickel.Where it may be mountedThe light is rated IP44, so it is protected against splashing water from any direction. The manufacturer intends it for damp rooms, including the shower and washbasin zone of a bathroom.The shade covers a 34.5 cm circle on the ceiling and projects only 8.5 cm from it, so the fitting takes nothing off the room height — which matters in a bathroom with a low ceiling or under a beam. It weighs 2 kg and fixes to the ceiling with ordinary plugs.How much light it givesThe built-in LED module draws 21 W and delivers 948 lumens, a little more than an old 60 W incandescent. In a bathroom of a few square metres that covers the general lighting; in a larger room compare the figure with the output of the fitting you are replacing.At 3000 K the light is warm white — yellowish, but noticeably lighter in tone than a traditional bulb. A colour rendering index of Ra 80 is enough for everyday use, while at a mirror, where skin tone or make-up is judged, higher values do better. The opal glass spreads the light across the whole shade, so the individual diodes stay out of sight.Supply and replacing the sourceThe fitting runs on 230 V and the driver is built in, so no separate transformer has to be bought.
