The London 483BC is a complete garden lantern on its own post: three four-sided lanterns with clear panes, carried on a cast aluminium bracket and column. The finish is a copper patina over powder-coated casting. Luminaire, reduction and telescopic post all come in the set, so no separate mast has to be sourced. How tall it stands and how it is fixed The post is telescopic and the overall height is set anywhere between 1850 and 2750 mm — from just under two metres to nearly three. That is the figure to compare with the fence, gate or hedge it will stand beside, because it decides whether the light falls onto the path or over it. The three-lantern head spans 640 mm, which is worth comparing with the width of the path or driveway. The base is fixed with three bolts through ø10.5 mm holes set 120° apart on a ø240 mm circle, so a foundation of at least that diameter has to sit under the lantern. The concrete foundation, ground anchor, concreting anchor and adapters are separate items in the maker's range and are not part of the set. What light sources it takes Each of the three lanterns has an E27 holder and takes an LED source of up to 9 W. That is the maker's ceiling per lantern, not the fitting's own consumption. No lamps are supplied, so colour and brightness are chosen separately; the maker specifies A55–A60 bulb shapes, and replacement is a job the end user can do without a service call. The panes are clear, so light spreads all round and the bulb itself is visible from outside — its shape is part of how the lit lantern looks. Build and outdoor service The body is powder-painted cast aluminium and the panes are clear, UV-stabilised polycarbonate. IP54 means protection against dust and against splashing water from any direction, and IK07 means the housing withstands a 2 J impact. The maker gives an ambient range of −20 to +45 °C and a luminaire weight of 12.34 kg net and 15.54 kg gross. The lantern is class II, so no protective earth conductor is needed.
