Lund is an outdoor wall light with a restrained Scandinavian form: a plain steel body with a clear lens, capped by a hood. The manufacturer describes the character of the light as "uncovered light, partly covered from the top" — the lamp is visible from the side and below, while the hood cuts off the flux aimed at the sky. The fitting therefore lights widely around itself, like a lantern, rather than casting a narrow patch on the wall. It can be mounted on a building corner That is a rare feature among outdoor wall lights. The manufacturer allows mounting not only on a flat wall but also on the corner of an architectural object — with a separately ordered corner bracket (index 153XX0009). On a building with pronounced corners this lets one fitting light two elevations and keeps a symmetry you cannot get by mounting a lamp just beside the edge. Hot-dip galvanised steel The body is made of hot-dip galvanised steel, then powder-coated in copper brown. Hot-dip galvanising is applied by immersion in molten zinc — thicker and more durable than an electroplated coat, and protective even where the paint gets damaged. The lens is clear UV-stabilised polycarbonate (it does not yellow and does not shatter on impact), and the cable entry is closed by an EPDM gland. Protection class II — no earth conductor Lund is protection class II: it is double-insulated and requires no PE earth conductor. When modernising an older garden installation whose lighting circuit has no earth core, that often decides the choice of fitting. The IP55 rating means dust-tight and resistant to water jets — the wall light can work on an unsheltered façade. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and the circuit can be looped through to the next fitting with up to 2 × 1.5 mm²; the gland accepts round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter. The manufacturer separately offers the corner bracket (153XX0009) and a lampshade service kit (06240003), which matters on a fitting meant for years outdoors: a damaged lens is replaced, not the whole lamp. Choosing a lamp The fitting takes replaceable E27 sources up to 9 W (LED). The manufacturer specifically recommends Philips Master LEDbulb / LEDbulb Classic E27, Philips ECO Classic and Osram ECO PRO Classic lamps, and the luminaire can be ordered factory-fitted with a Philips Master LEDbulb 806 lm / 8.5 W / 2700 K (dimmable). With an exposed source that warm colour is exactly what to aim for: 2700 K looks natural at an entrance and does not sharpen façade colours. Colour versions Lund 290 also comes in black (290BL) and in plain hot-dip galvanised finish (290GA), with other colours made to order from the manufacturer's own colour book.
