Takai 45 Beige Pendant Lamp by Nordlux

Name: Takai 45 Beige Pendant Lamp by Nordlux
Brand: Nordlux

Takai 45 is a pendant lamp with a two-layer shade of linen fabric in beige. The outer band is lower than the inner cylinder and fixed to it on metal clips, so a narrow gap is left at the top and at the bottom. The stem above the shade is burnished brass; cable and rose are white. How big it is and how to hang it The shade measures 45 cm across and 30 cm high, and the whole fitting without drop is 46 cm. A 45 cm diameter suits a table about 90–100 cm wide; the drop is usually shortened so the shade's lower edge sits 70–80 cm above the top. The cable runs to 300 cm, so the lamp reaches higher than usual ceilings. The ceiling rose is 12,5 cm across and 9 cm high. The lamp weighs 2,3 kg and the maker allows hook suspension, so the shade can be moved away from the outlet box if that does not fall over the table. What light it gives The fitting takes one E27 bulb of up to 25 W. No bulb is included, so brightness and colour are yours to choose — over a dining table 2700–3000 K is usual, that is warm, slightly yellow light. The shade is open top and bottom, so part of the light goes to the ceiling and the rest down onto the surface below. The gap between the fabric layers lays a further band of light sideways. The lamp can be dimmed, but it needs a bulb marked dimmable and a dimmer in the circuit — the lamp itself has no control gear. Build and use The shade is fabric and the load-bearing parts metal. Class II means the installation needs no earth conductor — live and neutral are enough. IP20 confines the lamp to dry interiors. The supply lead is white with a textile braid and the maker states it cannot be replaced — if damaged, the whole fitting is changed. The shade fabric is not washed; dust comes off it with a soft brush. Where it works Takai 45 was designed by Sofie Lefèvre for Design For The People. Linen and a brass detail are the Scandinavian vocabulary: natural material, a plain cylinder, no ornament. The lamp is intended over a dining table, in a living room and in hotel and restaurant interiors, where one large body replaces several small points of light.Pokaż więcej
