Trevo Floor All Black is a 164 cm floor lamp: a slim vertical metal stem in matt black on a round base 30 cm across. Three tube-shaped shades are fixed to the stem, alternating from side to side, each turned a different way. How much floor it takes up The base is 30 cm in diameter, so the lamp occupies a circle of that width — a figure to compare with the free space behind a sofa back, beside an armchair or between a shelving unit and the wall. All three shades sit on the upper part of the stem, above its half height, so the light comes from above and the lower section of the lamp stays clear. The lamp weighs 6.5 kg, which is worth knowing if you plan to move it between rooms. The cable emerges just above the base and runs along the floor. Which bulbs you need to buy The fitting takes three GU10 light sources of up to 10 W each. Bulbs are not included — the manufacturer lists them as a part the buyer supplies, so you choose the colour temperature and brightness yourself: 2700–3000 K gives warm, slightly yellow light, 4000 K neutral light. One detail to settle before ordering: the tubes are 3.7 cm across inside and the manufacturer specifies GU10 mini bulbs. An ordinary GU10 lamp measuring 5 cm across will not fit inside the shade — you need the narrower version with an MR11 body. The beam angle is set for each one independently, so a single lamp can light a reading spot, throw light at the wall and pick out part of a shelf at the same time. The shades are opaque and light leaves only through the open end of the tube, so this is directional light rather than diffused light.
