The Rendl SELMA is an outdoor wall light shaped as a box that tapers slightly upwards, made of aluminium in anthracite grey. The glass sits only on the underside, in a single opening — the top and the sides are closed, so light leaves downwards alone. How big it is and how much wall it takes The fitting is 11 cm high and 7 cm wide, and it stands 8.5 cm off the wall. That last figure is the one that matters on a wall light: it says how much of the passage beside a door, or of the width of a narrow balcony, the body takes up. Net weight is 335 g. The manufacturer gives dimensions and weight for the fitting alone — no light source is included. What light it gives The fitting has a GU10 lampholder and takes a replaceable LED lamp. The manufacturer states 8 W for it and names a recommended lamp under article number G14558, which it likewise does not supply. Because the glass is only in the bottom face, the light falls downwards, onto the strip of wall under the fitting and the ground in front of it — it does not light the surroundings all round. The manufacturer lists it as dimmable, but that needs a lamp described as dimmable. Where it can hang IP54 means protection against dust and against splashing water from any direction. That is the level for an external wall, but not for a hose jet or immersion. The body is aluminium, and the fitting runs on 230 V mains, so it is wired straight into the building installation.
