RIM is three brass rings hung at different angles on thin cables, gathered under a single round canopy 26 cm across. The largest ring measures 80 cm in diameter and the whole composition stands a metre tall. Light leaves the inner edge of each ring, so the rings themselves stay visible as golden lines while the output is thrown inward and down. 115 W and 6100 lumens — what that really means Maytoni rates this model at 115 W total and 6100 lm. That works out at roughly 53 lumens per watt, far below a technical luminaire, and it is why the energy class is G. This is not a design fault but the consequence of how a decorative fitting works: the diffuser gives up some light in order to turn point-source diodes into one continuous glowing edge. 6100 lm is enough for RIM to be the main light over a table or in a living room, but the running cost is that of a 115 W fitting. 4000 K and CRI 90 The diodes run neutral white at 4000 K — cooler than the usual 3000 K over a dining table, but easier to read by in a room that also gets worked in. Colour rendering is 90, clearly above average for a decorative pendant and genuinely visible on wood, fabric and food. Beam angle is 120°. The fitting is not dimmable; the manufacturer states this plainly, so it should not be wired to a dimmer. Suspension and adjustment The cable is 120 cm long and the manufacturer quotes a minimum installed height of 10 cm — the wires are shortened during installation to match the ceiling. The light source is permanently integrated and cannot be replaced; declared life is 50,000 hours, about 46 years at three hours a day. The body is cast aluminium in a brass finish, protection class I, IP20 — dry indoor rooms only. Built to be combined The Rim series is designed so several fixtures can be assembled into one installation, using the separate Maytoni mounting accessory MOD058A-03BS. The lamp itself weighs 5.68 kg net (7.1 kg gross) and the carton is 865 mm long — worth allowing for when choosing a ceiling fixing.
