The SLV KARPO 30 is a recessed spotlight with a black cylindrical head 3 cm across, carried on a gimbal set into a flat canopy. The barrel does not disappear into the ceiling — it hangs below it and aims a narrow beam where it is wanted. A built-in LED module does the lighting. The cut-out, and the room needed above the ceiling The cut-out is round and 7 cm in diameter, and 2 cm has to stay free above the ceiling for the mount. That is shallow for a recessed fitting, so it goes in where little space is left above the plasterboard. Below the ceiling there is considerably more to see: the barrel is 15.2 cm long and projects 4.5 cm below the ceiling line. The gimbal tilts it through 90° and rotates it through 350°, so the aim is set after installation without touching the hole. How much light, and what kind The LED module draws 7.5 W and puts out 450 lm at 3000 K, a warm white. The manufacturer gives a 40° beam — an accent beam that lights a chosen stretch of wall, worktop or picture rather than a whole room. Colour rendering is Ra 90, so colours read faithfully under it; that matters over a work surface, at a mirror and in a dressing room. Rated life is 30 000 hours. The module is not changed like a lamp — it is permanently built in. The driver is a separate purchase The fitting works in protection class III and runs on 500 mA direct current, so it is never wired straight to 230 V. No driver is supplied, and without one the spotlight cannot be switched on — it is the first thing to order alongside it. The maker names three of its own 500 mA drivers, one of them working with a phase dimmer and one to DALI.
