The Jupiter Planet 1896 pendant is a linear ceiling fitting with a black bar and four glass globes on nickel-finished rods. Each shade is a smoked sphere with a black ring, which is why the family is called PLANET. The steel-and-glass construction is for indoor use; lamps are not in the box.Size and clearance under the ceilingThe maker states 80 cm width, 18 cm depth and 60 cm fitting height. Compare the 80 cm width with the length of a table or kitchen island: the bar should be shorter than the top so light falls on the surface, not on chair backs. Depth of 18 cm is small, so the fitting stays on the table line and does not project far into the room. Height 60 cm is the luminaire itself. With a table around 75 cm high, leave about 70–80 cm between the top and the lowest globe, or you will look into the lamps when seated.The fitting runs on 230 V. IP20 means a dry interior, not a bathroom wet zone and not outdoors. The carton is 23 × 66 × 66 cm — useful when planning carry-in and storage.Four G9 holders and no lamps in the packThere are four replaceable G9 holders, each for a source up to 14 W. Jupiter does not supply the lamps. Choose G9 LEDs by colour and output for the surface: warmer over a dining table, brighter over an island where you cut and cook. Four points along 80 cm give a line of light instead of one central spot. Smoked glass covers the lamp and softens the point; real brightness depends on the lamps you buy, so we do not quote luminaire lumens.Steel, nickel and smoked globesThe bar and rings are black, the rods nickel. The shades are glass in a smoked, graphite tone. The fitting weighs 3.1 kg. Manufacturer warranty is 5 years. The rings around the globes are visible from the side and from below — not a fabric shade, but an open glass-and-metal composition, so dust collects on the globes and on the top edge of the rings.Over a table, an island, in a living room or bedroomThe 80 cm line suits a rectangular dining table, a kitchen island, and decorative light in a living room or bedroom when you want to light a table, a console or the bed axis rather than the whole ceiling evenly. Four globes do not replace separate worktop lighting under wall cupboards. Do not hang this fitting in a bathroom or garden: IP20 does not allow it.
