DAVOS 8608 is an outdoor wall light shaped as a rectangular block measuring 20 x 10 x 10 cm. The body is aluminium finished in the corten shade RAL 8028, a rust brown that imitates the patina of weathering steel. The fitting is open at the top and the bottom, so it throws two cones of light along the wall. How it spreads light on a facade The manufacturer's photometric curve shows a symmetrical distribution up and down, with an average diffuse angle of 88.3 degrees. On the wall that gives two broad cones rather than one patch, which is worth allowing for when spacing several fittings: neighbouring cones either meet or leave a dark band between them. The body projects 10 cm from the wall and is 20 cm wide. Mounting height cannot be adjusted once it is fixed, so the position has to be settled before drilling. The fitting weighs 1.1 kg. How much light and what colour Inside are four LED modules of 6 W each, 24 W together, giving 2200 lm. The source is built in and cannot be replaced — the manufacturer quotes 30,000 hours of life and 30,000 switching cycles, after which the whole fitting is changed. The 2700 K colour is warm, slightly yellow light close to a traditional incandescent bulb. Colour rendering is Ra 80, the value treated as standard in exterior lighting. Outdoor use, supply and dimming An IP54 rating means protection against dust and against splashing water from any direction, so the fitting can go on an unsheltered facade, a fence or a balcony. It is not intended for immersion or for cleaning with a pressure jet. Supply is 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz. The luminaire is Class I and therefore requires an installation with a protective earth conductor. Brightness can be adjusted, but only with a TRIAC dimmer, and that dimmer has to be bought separately as none is supplied. The corten finish Corten here is the colour of the paint on aluminium, not weathering steel: the body does not rust over time and does not shift in tone the way real weathering steel does. The shade corresponds to RAL 8028. The manufacturer also offers the same DAVOS model in white, dark grey and sand black, so fittings on one building can be matched.Pokaż więcej
