BASICO GU10 is a square recessed downlight in matt white. The visible frame measures 9.2 × 9.2 cm and holds a round ring set in a swivel bracket, which in turn takes a GU10 lamp. The body is aluminium and only 2.4 cm deep. How much room it needs in the ceiling The ceiling opening is cut to 80 mm across, and the 9.2 cm frame covers its edges. The fitting reaches only 2.4 cm into the ceiling, so it also fits shallow voids above plasterboard where deeper fittings will not go. A pair of spring clips holds it in place — the ones visible in the side view. The manufacturer gives a net weight of 0.12 kg, and the catalogue marks the fitting as suitable for stretch ceilings. Which light source to buy The fitting takes one GU10 lamp and no bulb is included, so colour temperature, output and beam angle are chosen together with the source. It runs on mains power, 100–240 V at 50/60 Hz, and needs no driver or transformer. The manufacturer marks this fitting as non-dimmable, so brightness control cannot be built on it even with a dimmable lamp fitted. If dimming is part of the plan, it is worth choosing a fitting made for it from the start. Materials, safety and variants The body is aluminium finished in matt white without gloss — the colour covers both the frame and the visible ring bracket. The fitting is protection class II, so no earth conductor has to be connected, and the manufacturer intends it for indoor use only.
