BASICO GU10 7741 is a round recessed downlight in aluminium with a white finish. The trim ring is 95 mm across, and the inner ring carrying the GU10 holder tilts, so the lamp can be angled away from vertical. The fitting has no LED module of its own: it runs on a lamp bought separately. What hole to cut and how much space above the ceiling The manufacturer gives an 80 mm cut-out, and the 95 mm trim covers it with room to spare, so an imprecise cut does not stay on show. The fitting reaches 23 mm above the ceiling plane and measures 27.5 mm overall — a build depth that shallow fits inside an ordinary plasterboard sheet on a frame. Two sprung arms hold it in: squeeze them, push the body into the hole and let go, and the arms spread above the board. No screws or extra brackets are needed. The whole thing weighs 150 g. Which lamp to buy The holder takes one GU10 lamp of up to 12 W, LED only — that is what the assembly card states. No lamp is included, so you choose colour, brightness and beam angle yourself. On a directional fitting the angle matters: a 36° beam covers a wider patch of floor, 24° marks out a smaller pool of light. With neither a driver nor an LED module inside the fitting, the lamp and a dimmer decide the light colour and whether it can be dimmed at all. 2700–3000 K is warm light, 4000 K neutral. Where it may be installed The tilting ring lets the beam come off vertical, so one fitting can light a wall, a picture or the edge of a worktop rather than the spot directly beneath it. Several in a row can each be aimed independently. The fitting is built to protection class II — it connects with two cores and no earth conductor. Supply voltage is 100–240 V at 50/60 Hz.
