SLOT SUR D35xD37 is a surface-mounted aluminium profile from Ideal Lux, 35 x 37 mm in section and 2 metres long, made to house an LED strip. It is not a finished luminaire: you buy the channel and its diffuser, and choose the strip and driver yourself. That lets you set output, colour temperature and run length to suit the project instead of accepting the figures of a ready-made batten. What is in the box - and what is not The box holds the extruded aluminium profile in a white powder coat and the slide-in satin-finish PMMA diffuser, which blurs the individual diodes into a continuous line of light. Ideal Lux lists the product as an accessory for an LED strip of up to 40 W per metre, fed from a separate remote driver. Neither the strip nor the driver nor the fixing screws are supplied - three items to add to the order. Surface mounting The profile mounts onto the face of a ceiling or wall, with no channel to cut. The manufacturer's instructions call for one retaining clip every 500 mm, so four clips for a two-metre length. The order of work matters: screw the clips up first, then lay in the strip with its driver already connected, and slide the diffuser on last. Ideal Lux states that the electrical connection should be made by a qualified installer. Joining lengths and suspending Two-metre profiles can be assembled into longer runs. Ideal Lux provides the VISION KIT STRAIGHT CONTINUOUS connector for this, slipped between two butted lengths before the strip goes in, so the line of light has no break at the joint. The same D35xD37 section also has a mechanical joiner, code 270463, and a 3 m wire suspension kit, code 270449, which lets the same profile hang below the ceiling instead of sitting flat on it. Variants of the D35xD37 section The same profile is made in four versions, each with its own EAN: white 2000 mm (270524, offered here), black 2000 mm (270517), white 3000 mm (270548) and black 3000 mm (270531).
