Bonte is a two-light pendant with an oval shade built from vertical clear glass rods arranged on two levels. A matt black ring holds the rods, and the whole body hangs on two black cables from an elongated, equally black ceiling plate. Dimensions and where to hang it The shade is 41 cm long and 20 cm wide, 28 cm deep, so it is oblong rather than round. A shape like that runs along a table or a kitchen island rather than across it: over an 80–90 cm wide top it occupies the middle and does not reach past the edges. Total height including the cables is 120 cm. Above a table the bottom of the shade usually sits 70–80 cm above the top, so at an ordinary ceiling height the cables are shortened during installation. How much light it gives Two E27 screw-base bulbs sit inside the shade, each rated up to 40 W. Bulbs are not included, so colour and brightness are yours to choose; two bulbs of around 800 lm each give light comparable to two old 60 W lamps. The glass rods are clear, so the bulbs are visible from below and through the walls of the shade, and the light breaks into vertical reflections. That makes the shape and finish of the bulb matter here: a clear decorative bulb gives a sharp, sparkling effect, an opal one a softer glow. The fitting can be dimmed, but only with a bulb described as dimmable and a dimmer in the installation. Build and the Bonte family The structure is metal alloy in matt black together with glass. The maker intends the luminaire for dry interiors, and the supply is 230 V.
