The WOOP is an outdoor wall light shaped as a flat rectangular box in anthracite, 18 cm wide, 8 cm deep and 6 cm high. It emits on two sides: one cover is clear glass in a black frame, the other a narrower frosted glass, also framed in black. Which light source you have to buy The fitting takes an R7s socket for a 78 mm linear lamp and comes with no light source — it has to be bought separately. The manufacturer gives a maximum of 12 W, which in practice means an LED lamp: classic R7s 78 mm halogen sticks start above that figure and do not belong in this fitting. Rendl names its own G13043 as the recommended source. The light runs straight off 230 V mains. The manufacturer calls it dimmable provided a suitable light source is fitted, so whether you can dim it is decided by the lamp you buy and the dimmer in the installation. Where it can go IP54 means a body protected against dust to a limited degree and against splashing water from any direction — enough for a house wall, an entrance, a terrace or a fence. It is not protection against pressurised jets or immersion. The fitting itself weighs 0.58 kg and the package 0.67 kg, so no special anchoring is needed. Connecting it to a 230 V outdoor circuit is work for a qualified electrician. How the light falls Light leaves the fitting upwards and downwards, so the wall carries two cones rather than one patch. The clear pane passes light more sharply and draws the edge of the cone more distinctly, the frosted one gives a softer, more diffuse band — and because it is narrower, the two sides read differently.
