RON W 15/25 is a wall light with a textile drum shade 15 cm across and 25 cm tall. The shade is covered in black polycotton and lined inside with gold foil. The gold lining changes the colour of the light The black fabric passes no light sideways, so the whole output reflects off the inside of the shade and leaves upward and downward. Because that inside is gold, the reflected light takes on a warmer, faintly amber tone — unlike a shade with a white lining, which returns the lamp's colour unchanged. The effect shows on the wall above and below the fitting: both pools of light are warmer than the source itself. That is the reason to choose gold foil over white. Which lamp it takes The holder is E27 and takes one lamp of up to 15 W. No lamp is supplied — the maker recommends a suitable model separately. The maker states the fitting can be dimmed provided a dimmable lamp is used; the fitting itself has no dimming electronics, so a dimmer in the circuit is needed as well.
