TRANG 100 is a pendant lamp built as a vertical glowing tube 100 cm long. The white tube diffuses light along its whole length and in every direction, and burgundy end caps close it off. A cylindrical canopy in the same colour sits against the ceiling, with a black cable running from it. How much room it takes under the ceiling From the ceiling to the lower end of the tube the fitting occupies 200 cm. That is made up of the 26 cm canopy at 6 cm across, the 100 cm tube at 3 cm across, and the cable filling the rest of the height - a figure to set against the height of the room and against whatever is meant to stand under the lamp. The tube is narrow, so the fitting takes up a point under the ceiling rather than an area: hang one over a worktop, or put several in a row. The whole lamp weighs 1,5 kg, and the canopy screws to the ceiling and connects through a terminal block. How it lights The built-in LED module draws 26 W and delivers 3438 lm. That is more than four old 60 W bulbs together, so a single fitting can be the main light in a room. The colour of 3000 K is warm, with a slightly yellow cast. The light leaves the whole surface of the tube rather than one opening at the bottom - the fitting lays no pool of light beneath it but glows as a vertical line visible from every side. That is worth a thought when choosing its place: the tube stays in the field of view of anyone sitting beside it. Light source and build The source is supplied and permanently built in - there is no lampholder and no bulb to change, and when the module reaches the end of its life the whole fitting is replaced. Nothing has to be bought for the lamp to light. The body combines steel with plastic, and the burgundy covers the canopy and both end caps of the tube; the cable is black.
