TEKKNI EGEN is a mounting set for LED strips: a surface aluminium profile with a 23.6 × 10 mm cross-section and a length of 2.02 m in black, together with a frosted M22 polycarbonate cover. Neither the profile nor the cover lights up on its own — this is the housing the LED strip goes into. What the set contains and what you buy on top There are four kinds of parts in the box: the EGEN profile (1 pc), the frosted M22 cover (1 pc), four plastic end caps and four metal mounting clips. The LED strip and the driver are not included — both are chosen separately. The manufacturer puts the driver outside the profile, so it needs a place of its own. EGEN sets also cannot be joined end to end into one continuous run: a longer line of light is built from separate sections with a visible gap, or from the 3 m version. Which strip fits inside The channel inside the profile is 22 mm wide, and that figure decides which strip to buy — two strips of the usual 10 mm width sit side by side in it, which is exactly why the manufacturer describes EGEN as a double-strip profile. The M22 cover measures 21.6 × 4.3 mm and clips into the profile. The frosted cover is semi-translucent: it diffuses the diode light so that individual points are not visible up close, at the cost of part of the output. The clear and milky versions of the same range differ precisely in that trade-off. Light leaves perpendicular to the mounting plane — straight out from the wall, or down from the underside of a shelf. How and where it is mounted The profile is fixed in two ways: with four metal clips of 24.8 × 10.5 mm screwed to the surface, or with double-sided mounting tape. The clips are supplied; screws and tape are bought separately. The end caps close both ends of the section. The section measures 2.02 m, two centimetres over a round two metres — that allowance is usually what is left for trimming. The manufacturer intends EGEN for office and home interiors and for decorative lighting; at 10 mm high the profile stays shallow enough to run under a shelf or along a wall without building an enclosure.Meer tonen
