The Teak Root Jar - S - teak wood storage jar with lid

Name: The Teak Root Jar - S - teak wood storage jar with lid
Brand: BAZAR BIZAR

The Teak Root Jar in size S is a low, cylindrical container in solid teak with a full wooden lid. Every piece is carved by hand, so grain pattern and shade differ from one to the next. The colour is left natural — the warm, golden tone of unstained teak. How much it holds and where it sitsThe manufacturer gives a capacity of 120 ml, roughly eight tablespoons. That is a measure for a spice, for salt or for a few days of coffee beans rather than a kitchen store — the manufacturer names coffee beans and delicate spices specifically. The jar takes up an 8 cm circle on the worktop and stands 6 cm tall with the lid on, so it sits in the hand and fits a narrow spice shelf. The same family runs to sizes M and L if more volume is needed. How it closesThe lid simply rests on the rim — there is neither a thread nor a gasket. The closure keeps dust out but is not airtight, so coffee or a spice is kept in it for current use rather than for long storage. The wood and its careBody and lid are solid teak. The walls are thick and the cavity is worked out of the block — no plywood and no veneer. The lid is solid and therefore heavy; it settles onto the rim under its own weight rather than clipping shut.Teak left in sunlight greys over time and takes on a silver patina. To keep the warm tone, the manufacturer advises oiling or sealing the surface from time to time. The wood stays absorbent, so the jar is meant for dry goods. It is made in Indonesia.Meer tonen
