PALMA is an LED ceiling light built from three overlapping circles of different sizes: one glows as a silver ring, one is a solid silver disc, and the third carries a wood-decor surface. That wood look is a finish applied to the plate, not solid timber — the fitting itself is metal and plastic. How much ceiling it takes up The fitting covers a field of 65 × 62.5 cm, an area close to 90 cm across the diagonal — a measurement to compare against the clear ceiling above the spot you have in mind. At 7 cm high it does not hang down: it stays at the ceiling plane, so it suits rooms where a pendant would not fit. Net weight is 3.59 kg. At that weight and over that fixing area, what matters is what the ceiling itself will carry — in plasterboard the fixing has to reach the supporting frame. How much light actually reaches the room The manufacturer publishes two lumen figures, and that is not a mistake. The LED board on its own is rated 6000 lm at 50 W, but 2250 lm leaves the diffuser — and that is the figure to plan a room's lighting around. For comparison, an old 60 W incandescent gave about 800 lm, so PALMA is worth roughly three of them. The whole fitting draws 55 W. The light source is permanently built in — there is no socket and no lamp to change — and the maker states protection class II, so the circuit needs no earth conductor. What the remote does An infrared remote is included and handles both adjustments. Colour temperature moves steplessly between 2700 and 5000 K, from a warm white close to an incandescent lamp to a cool white close to daylight — the same fitting can be set one way in the morning and another in the evening. The same remote dims the light. A memory function stores the last setting and restores it after the fitting is disconnected from the mains, so a power cut does not mean choosing the colour again.
