Rendl OWEN DIMM recessed downlight, white, LED 7 W, 45°, IP54, dim to warm 3000–1800 K

Name: Rendl OWEN DIMM recessed downlight, white, LED 7 W, 45°, IP54, dim to warm 3000–1800 K
Brand: Rendl light studio

OWEN DIMM is a white recessed downlight with a built-in LED module set deep inside a conical interior. The visible trim is 65 mm across and the light source sits well back inside the fitting. This is the white version of the Rendl model; the same range also comes in black. How the light dimsThe downlight works on the dim-to-warm principle: at full brightness it shines at 3000 K, a warm white, and as you dim it the colour moves gradually down to 1800 K, a very warm orange light close to a candle flame. In the evening, turning the brightness down makes the light warmer at the same time. Dimming needs a TRIAC phase-cut dimmer. The module draws 7 W and gives 520 lm in a 45° beam, so it lights a clear circle under the fitting rather than the whole ceiling. A colour rendering index of Ra 90 means skin, towels and wood look natural under it. The light source cannot be replaced; the manufacturer quotes a lifetime of 30,000 hours.Installation and ceiling voidThe fitting goes into a 55 mm hole in the ceiling and is held by spring clips. The manufacturer intends it for plasterboard ceilings and requires 110 mm of free space above the board; the body is 83 mm tall and only a slim trim stays below the ceiling. The driver is included, so the downlight connects directly to the 230 V wiring.Where it fitsIP54 means protection against dust and against water splashed from any direction, which is why the manufacturer allows the fitting in bathrooms and other damp rooms. The shift to 1800 K matters in a bedroom, living room or dining room too, and in hotels and restaurants, where evening lighting stays dimmed for hours.Meer tonen
