Lambeth Ribbed is a lantern-shaped pendant: a cylindrical shade 20 cm across, built from ribbed glass panels held in a metal frame finished in antique brass. The glass is clear, so the lamp stays visible through the reeding. The fitting hangs on a chain with a gold-coloured cable. How high to hang it The chain is 1,5 m long and shortens by unhooking links, which puts the overall height of the fitting anywhere between 50 and 190 cm. Over a table the bottom edge of the shade is usually left 70-80 cm above the top; in a hallway or a stairwell the full drop is used. A shade 20 cm across is a small object — one unit lights a spot rather than a whole room, and over a longer table or in a tall stairwell several in a row read better. The fitting weighs 2,67 kg, and protection class I requires a PE earth conductor to be connected. The lamp it takes It holds one E27 lamp of up to 10 W in LED form. No lamp is supplied, so colour and brightness are yours to choose. The fitting can be dimmed, but that needs a dimmer in the circuit and a lamp described as dimmable. Ribbed glass breaks the light into vertical streaks and throws them onto the ceiling and walls, so the fitting also works as decoration and not only as a source of light. Construction Frame, ceiling rose and chain all carry the antique brass finish — warm, slightly muted, with no mirror shine.
