Hollis is a wall light designed by Hinkley, referencing Art Deco fittings of the 1920s: a plain vertical body in a heritage brass finish topped with a cylindrical shade. It stands 40.3 cm tall, 15.6 cm wide, and projects 19 cm from the wall. An opal glass shade In this version the shade is opal glass — milky and opaque, hiding the bulb completely and giving soft, even light with no point highlights. The distinction matters: Hinkley also makes Hollis with clear seeded glass, which behaves quite differently — sharp, with the filament on show. This is the opal variant. IP44: for a bathroom, not for outdoors IP44 means resistance to splashing water from any direction. That is enough for a bathroom outside the direct shower zone, for a kitchen and for rooms with raised humidity. The manufacturer classifies the fitting as interior use ("Interior / Bathroom") — IP44 is not resistance to jets or to prolonged exposure to rain, so this is not a fitting for a façade. Lamp and control The fitting takes one E14 lamp up to 40 W; no bulb is supplied. The light has no dimming circuit of its own but will work with a dimmer if you fit a dimmable lamp — Elstead recommends the Litec E14 candle LED, 4 W, 400 lm, 3000 K, dimmable, for this model.
