CROSS BLACK/GOLD is a four-light pendant from the Polish brand Keter Lighting, based in Częstochowa. Four cylindrical smoked-glass shades hang on cords from a black rectangular ceiling bar measuring 60 × 10 cm, each in a gold lampholder. Every shade is pinched and twisted at mid-height, so the glass breaks the light unevenly. How big it is and where to hang it The bar is 60 cm long and 10 cm wide — compare that with the length of the table or worktop the lamp will hang over. Maximum drop is 120 cm; the cords are usually shortened so the lower edge of the shades sits 70–80 cm above the table top. The four shades are set in a single line, so the light spreads along the table rather than pooling at one point. Gross weight is 2.4 kg. The lamp fixes to the ceiling by its bar, and the 10 cm width covers a standard installation box. Which bulbs to buy The four lampholders take an E27 screw thread and the manufacturer gives 60 W as the maximum bulb rating. No lamps are supplied, so brightness and colour are yours to choose: four bulbs of around 800 lm each match four old 60 W bulbs, and 2700–3000 K is the warm, slightly yellow light usually picked for a dining table. The glass is smoked and see-through — the bulb shows through the shade, so its shape is part of how the lamp looks. For the same reason smoked glass dims and warms the output: the room will be darker under this lamp than with the same bulb behind opal glass. Build The bar and frame are metal in a black finish, and the lampholders are gold. The shades are glass rather than plastic — heavier and harder to the touch, but also easier to chip when cleaning.
