Famlight modern glass pendant lamp RUU transparent stainless steel
RUU is a pendant lamp made of hand-blown colourless glass. The shade is a cylinder 30 cm high and 18 cm wide, its wall covered with irregular dents — each pressed in by hand, so their arrangement never repeats identically on two pieces. The lampholder and canopy are finished in brass. How large the lamp is and how high it hangs The whole drop measures 120 cm from ceiling to the lower edge of the shade, and the canopy is 10 cm across, covering an ordinary junction box. The cable can be shortened during installation if the lamp is to hang higher. Above a table the lower edge of the shade is usually set 70–80 cm over the top — with a standard 75 cm table and a 260 cm ceiling, a 120 cm drop lands in that range without shortening. An 18 cm shade is narrow for lighting a table on its own, so above a longer top several pieces in a row are more usual than one in the middle. The bulb and the kind of light The lamp takes one E27 source of up to 60 W. No bulb is included, so you choose colour and brightness yourself; around 800 lm matches an old 60 W bulb. The glass is colourless and clear, so the bulb stays visible through the shade — its shape becomes part of the lamp, and the light falls straight down and sideways with no diffusion across an opal cover. The dents in the glass refract it further and throw an irregular pattern onto the ceiling. Glass and finish The shade is blown by hand and the whole lamp is made in Poland. The glass is paired with brass metalwork; the maker also runs the RUU series in stainless steel, copper and patina, which makes it easier to match the rest of the hardware in the room.
