NUMINOS XL PHASE is a surface-mounted ceiling spotlight by SLV: a matt black cylinder 12 cm across, held on a short bracket and a round ceiling canopy. The housing is aluminium, the lens sits behind polycarbonate, and the light comes from a built-in LED module — there is no lamp socket. How big it is and how it aims The canopy is 10.3 cm across and 2.9 cm deep, so it covers a standard installation box. The cylinder stands 20 cm off the ceiling and the fitting measures 25.8 cm overall — a figure to compare with the clearance you have below the ceiling, particularly above a walkway or under a sloped roof. The head turns 350° horizontally and tilts 90° vertically, so the beam is aimed after installation without moving the supply point. The fitting weighs 1.676 kg. How much light NUMINOS XL gives The LED module draws 28 W and delivers 3900 lm, roughly 139 lumens per watt. That is main-lighting territory, close to five times an old 60 W bulb (about 800 lm) — except that the narrow 24° beam puts that output onto a limited area rather than across a whole room. 4000 K is neutral white, without the yellow cast of 2700 K. Colour rendering above Ra 90 shows shades almost as daylight does, which matters over a worktop and on displayed goods. The light source sits deep in the reflector, hence the glare rating of UGR <= 16. The manufacturer states 50,000 hours of module life. Supply, dimming and installation The fitting runs straight off 220-240 V 50/60 Hz mains (700 mA secondary current) and is protection class I, so the connection needs an earth conductor. The permitted ambient temperature is 45 °C. It dims on a trailing-edge phase dimmer. The dimmer is not included and is chosen separately, with attention to its minimum load. The built-in LED module cannot be replaced by the user. SLV covers the NUMINOS series with a five-year warranty. Which interior it suits The manufacturer intends NUMINOS for homes, offices, hotels and shops. The narrow beam and high Ra work where light has to land on something specific: a counter, a display shelf, a desk or the seating area of a living room. The form is minimalist: a smooth tube with no ornament, one matt black throughout, only the joint screws visible.
