Ariel Wall Sconce - 1 Light Source - Brushed Gold by Elstead

Name: Ariel Wall Sconce - 1 Light Source - Brushed Gold by Elstead
Brand: Elstead Lighting

Ariel is a wall light made of two bodies: an upright capsule-shaped steel plate in brushed gold, and an opal glass sphere that sits on its top edge and steps out in front of it. The plate is smooth and unornamented, with a single visible screw on the side edge, and the matt glass of the sphere hides the lamp completely. How much wall it takes up The fitting is 32 cm tall and 14.2 cm wide, and it stands 12.1 cm off the wall — that is how far the glass sphere reaches forward, since the plate itself lies flat against the wall. Compare that figure with the clearance in a hallway, where a wall light usually hangs at shoulder height. The sphere is about as wide as the plate, so the silhouette stays narrow — the fitting suits a slim strip of wall between a door and a corner. It weighs 1.3 kg. Which bulb to buy The fitting takes one E27 lamp rated up to 40 W, and the manufacturer specifies the golfball shape for it — a small round bulb of roughly 45 mm diameter. No lamp is supplied and there are no permanently built-in diodes, so the bulb is replaced as in any ordinary fitting. The fitting is prepared for dimming, but that needs a dimmable lamp and a dimmer; it carries no control gear of its own. You choose the light colour with the bulb, and the opal glass spreads it evenly, with no filament showing through. Finish and wiring The plate is steel with a brushed gold finish and a visible directional grain; the shade is matt opal glass. The fitting runs on 220–240 V mains and belongs to protection class I, so it needs an earth conductor — a back box without earth will not serve it. The manufacturer intends Ariel for interiors only: living room, dining room, bedroom and hallway. The form is modern — two plain geometric figures with no ornament. The same family also includes a matt black version.Meer tonen
