The Hellvik 2404AL is a 55 cm bollard light made of powder-coated cast aluminium in an aluminium finish. Its head is covered on top and the light leaves through a hermetic lens of transparent PMMA sealed with a silicone gasket. The light it gives The manufacturer states 1038 lm as the output of the complete luminaire at 8 W — the LED module alone puts out 1159 lm, and the difference stays in the lens. The first figure is the comparable one, because it describes the light that actually reaches the outside. 3000 K is warm white, and the colour rendering index is Ra 70, below the Ra 90 sources used where colours need to look faithful. The light is diffused and shielded from above: 3% of the flux escapes upwards, and the BUG rating B0-U2-G0 means no light thrown backwards and no glare. The fitting therefore lights the surface around it rather than the windows of the house or the eyes of someone walking the path. Brightness is adjusted with a trailing-edge (TE) phase dimmer; it will not work with a leading-edge one. Size, mounting and wiring The bollard stands 55 cm tall on a 42 × 11 cm footprint and weighs 7.94 kg. The concrete anchor is supplied, while the ground anchor (index 209GA0009) and the adapter for a concrete foundation (209GA0S09) are bought separately. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 4 mm² and allow loop-through wiring, so the supply can carry on to the next point without a separate junction box. The cable needs a round sheath no more than 12.5 mm across, worth checking against the run already in the ground. Supply is 230 V, and installation follows the instructions packed with the fitting. Durability and service IP65 means full protection against dust and resistance to water jets, and IK08 means impact resistance up to 5 J. The manufacturer gives an operating range of -20 to +45 °C, so the bollard stays outdoors all year. The LED module and the driver are replaceable by a qualified professional and are listed as spare parts with their own indexes (module 4699100402, driver 46999610). A failure is therefore repaired by swapping a part rather than the whole luminaire. The stated module life is over 100,000 h to L90B10, and the driver is rated for 50,000 h.Show more
