A 5 m COB LED strip carrying 1600 diodes in one continuous row — 320 per running metre. COB construction means the individual light points are not visible: the strip reads as a single unbroken band of light. The board is 8 mm wide, the strip runs on 12 V and lights at 3000 K, a warm white close to the old incandescent bulb. How much light it gives and how it renders colour One metre puts out 850 lm while drawing 10 W, which works out at 85 lm/W. A single metre therefore lights roughly like a former 60 W bulb, and the whole five-metre reel about 4250 lm — that is task-lighting level, not decorative backlighting alone. The colour rendering index is Ra 90. At that value colours under the strip look close to how they look in daylight, which matters wherever they have to be right: above a kitchen worktop and in a wardrobe when picking clothes. What you need to buy alongside The strip runs on 12 V DC, so it needs a constant-voltage driver — none is included. Five metres draw 50 W, and that is the figure you compare the driver rating against, choosing it with headroom. The manufacturer also recommends mounting the strip in an LED profile with a diffuser; profile and diffuser are bought separately. Where to mount it The intended uses are lighting under kitchen wall units, kitchen lighting and wardrobe lighting. The strip has no protection against water or dust, so it does not belong in rooms with raised humidity or outdoors — it stays in dry interiors. Stated lifetime is 30 000 hours, about 27 years at three hours of use per day.
