The VT-8003 is a white infrared motion sensor designed for wall mounting. It detects movement across a 180° field and automatically switches connected lighting or another electrical load. Detection range and timing settings The sensor detects motion up to 12 m away, at ambient temperatures below 24°C, within a 180° angle in front of the housing. That angle covers the area facing the sensor and does not reach behind the housing, so the mounting spot is worth choosing carefully to keep the relevant area inside that field. The time the load stays on after motion is detected can be set from 10 seconds to 7 minutes, and the light-level threshold is adjustable from under 3 to 2000 lux. That lets the sensor be limited to operating only after dusk, regardless of when motion actually occurs. Maximum load it can switch The built-in relay handles a load of up to 300 W at 220-240 V, 50/60 Hz. That is the combined power limit for everything connected to the sensor — several light bulbs or one larger fixture, for example — above which the contacts can be overloaded. Housing and mounting location The housing combines a plastic shell over an aluminium body and carries an IP44 rating, which allows the sensor to be mounted outdoors in locations exposed to splashing water. At 86.4 x 60.4 x 98 mm and in white, it mounts discreetly on a wall, for example next to an entrance or in a stairwell.Show more
