Lampshade Nowodvorski CAMELEON CYLINDER S 8546 brass
The CAMELEON CYLINDER S is a shade for the Nowodvorski Cameleon system, not a finished lamp. It is a clear glass cylinder 15 cm tall with a solid brass sleeve seated in its upper part; the bottom of the cylinder stays open and lets the light out straight below the fitting. What else you have to buy before it lights Cameleon is built from separately ordered parts, and the shade is only the first of them. A CYLINDER S is paired with a suspension carrying a GU10 lampholder, a ceiling box, and mounting accessories if the arrangement is to spread sideways. Without a suspension there is no way to connect the shade. No bulb is included, and the manufacturer allows LED sources up to 10 W only. That rules out halogen and traditional bulbs, so check that the packaging explicitly says LED and stays within that limit. You choose the light colour yourself — in a bedroom people usually reach for 2700–3000 K, meaning warm light. Size and how it sits in a composition The cylinder is 15 cm tall, 6.5 cm wide and weighs 0.5 kg — the size of a narrow point accent rather than a shade that lights a room on its own. The CAMELEON CYLINDER collection carries the same shape in three heights: 15, 25 and 35 cm, so several pieces can hang side by side on cords of different lengths and form an uneven line above a worktop or beside a bed. Materials The glass is colourless and transparent, so the brass sleeve and the cord itself show through it. The brass is solid and brushed, which returns light matt, without mirror reflections.
