BUCKY 40 is a metal pendant with a tapered 40 cm shade whose surface is covered in an irregular dented pattern. The supply cable ends not in a ceiling rose but in an adapter for a 3-circuit track — the fitting hangs on the track, not on a ceiling hook. Where this lamp can be hung The adapter fits a 3-circuit track to the Eurostandard (EUTRAC) pattern. That is the only mounting this version has: at an ordinary ceiling outlet with a junction box there is nothing to screw it to, so the track has to be up already or planned together with the lamp. In exchange the fitting slides and turns along the track without an electrician, and several can hang side by side on one run. The cable is 120 cm, so that is slack to shorten during fitting rather than a fixed drop. The whole thing weighs 1.09 kg — what carries it is the track's rated load, not the ceiling. How big the shade is The shade is 40 cm across and 21 cm high. That diameter keeps its proportions over a table 80–90 cm wide, and the drop is usually shortened so the lower rim sits 70–80 cm above the top — the light then covers the whole table and does not shine into the eyes of anyone seated. Which light source to buy The fitting takes an E27 lamp of up to 15 W. That ceiling is lower than on the same lamp in its ceiling-rose version, because a track circuit divides its power between every fitting hung on it — it should not be exceeded. No bulb is included, so colour and brightness are yours to choose. The maker recommends an E27 source of 806 lm at 2700 K, a warm and slightly yellow light — that is the brightness of an old 60 W bulb, and it sits well inside the 15 W ceiling.
