Pursuit HPLC column with inner diameter 4.6 mm, length 250 mm and particle size 5.0 µm. Pursuit PFP (PentaFluoroPhenyl) columns have five fluorines attached to the phenyl group and allow separation by dipole-dipole interactions. If the polarity of the compound of interest is high, separations can be achieved by hydrophobic interactions as with C18 with high pH mobile phases and ion-pairing agents, but this can lead to poor data accuracy and instrument damage.
