Name: NORLYS Mora 6460BL Pole-top Garden Lantern black LED 17.6 W 1626 lm 3000 K IP65 IK08 DALI2
Brand: NORLYS

Mora 6460BL is a park lantern for pole mounting – a fitting 46.5 × 15 × 27 cm, made to sit on a 60 mm diameter pole. The body is black and the diffuser is clear glass. 92 lumens per watt – a lot for a lantern 17.6 W produces 1626 lumens, which is 92 lm/W. Among park luminaires that is clearly above average: many lanterns in this class sit between 40 and 60 lm/W because they lose light inside decorative covers and shields. Here the diffuser is glass rather than plastic, and glass transmits more and – more importantly outdoors – does not yellow under UV. Ten years on this lantern will light the same, while a polycarbonate equivalent will have lost part of its output to hazing. The manufacturer describes the distribution as symmetric at 30°, with an upward light output ratio of 0% – all of it goes to the ground. Together with the Dark Sky marking, that makes a lantern which lights the path rather than the sky above it. 3000 K and consistent colour 3000 K is warm white – in a garden or on a drive it reads naturally, does not turn greenery grey and does not resemble car-park lighting the way 4000 K does. Colour rendering is CRI 80, and SDCM 3 guarantees tint consistency between units: along an avenue set with several lanterns a colour difference is immediately visible, and this is precisely the figure that prevents it. DALI2 and NightDim control The fitting is addressable to the DALI2 standard – the control system gives it its own number, so it can be dimmed and built into schedules independently of neighbouring lanterns without running a separate circuit to each. NORLYS also lists the NightDim function against it, a night-time reduction in output: after the busiest hours the brightness drops to a maintenance level instead of burning at full power until morning. On a footpath run that translates directly into the bill and into residents' comfort. Durability IP65 means complete dust-tightness and protection against water jets from any direction; IK08 is resistance to a 5-joule impact. On a pole-mounted fitting, within reach of a mower, a bicycle and a ball, the second figure decides its lifespan more than the first. Sealing comes from a silicone gasket and an EPDM gland – ozone- and UV-resistant rubber that does not harden in frost. Declared life is 60,000 hours, which at a typical three hours a day is over fifty years – in practice the LED will outlast everything else in the fitting.
