Formerly Schleicher & Schuell paper grade 589/2 equivalent to 40 Whatman and 389 Munktell properties: -Medium-fast filtering, medium-open to open fiber structure -Filtration speed of 54 s/100 ml -ash-free, wet-strength -Common grade for quantitative work, coarser precipitates such as lead, iron and silver sulfide, alkaline earth carbonates, food analysis and soil testing These are very pure filters suitable for a wide range of critical analytical filtration procedures. Whatman quantitative filters from GE Healthcare are designed for gravimetric analysis and the preparation of samples for instrumental analysis.
