WAVE 15166-55 is an LED ceiling light from the WAVE range by Leuchten Direkt. Three wavy, illuminated arms cross above a small rectangular steel-coloured canopy, and the whole fitting measures 97.5 cm long and only 8 cm deep. How big the fitting is and where it goes The body takes up 97.5 × 16 cm of ceiling and stands 8 cm proud of it — a figure to compare with the room height and with the clearance above a door or wardrobe the fitting has to pass. The arms run along a single axis, so the light lies lengthwise down a room or hallway rather than sitting in its centre. The fitting weighs 1.121 kg and is protection class II, which means it needs no earth conductor — live and neutral in a standard ceiling box are enough. How much light it gives The manufacturer quotes two flux figures and they are worth telling apart: 3920 lm is the raw output of the LED modules, while 2270 lm is the flux that actually leaves the fitting. Plan the lighting around the second number; it covers the main light of a smaller room or the lighting of a circulation space. The colour temperature is 3000 K, warm white — warmer than daylight, without the yellow cast that 2700 K carries. The complete fitting draws 32 W, of which the LED modules themselves account for 28 W. The light source Light comes from a built-in LED module spread along the three arms. There is no socket and no bulb to buy: the fitting lights up as soon as it is connected, but the source cannot be swapped for another colour or brightness either.
