Sol 4049BL Black LED Outdoor Ceiling Light by NORLYS

Name: Sol 4049BL Black LED Outdoor Ceiling Light by NORLYS
Brand: NORLYS

Sol 4049BL is a NORLYS outdoor ceiling light: a shallow cylinder, 20 cm across and 11 cm deep. The body is a painted aluminium profile in matt black; a disc of satin glass in a black ring closes the underside. The LED module is built in and supplied with the fitting — there is no bulb to buy or replace. How big it is and how it mounts At 20 cm across it projects 11 cm below the ceiling, staying flat against a soffit or terrace ceiling. It screws onto the substrate through two ø5 mm holes spaced 100 mm apart, per the supplied instructions. The supply enters through an EPDM gland for round insulated cable of 7–10.5 mm. The terminals take up to five 2.5 mm² conductors, and fittings in one run loop through with conductors up to 1.5 mm². The light is protection class I, so the installation needs an earth conductor. How much light Sol 4049BL gives The LED module produces 2200 lm, and 1618 lm leave through the satin glass at 19.3 W. That is a main-lighting level — enough for a whole entrance or a few metres of terrace, not just the circle beneath. 3000 K is warm white, without the yellow cast of a traditional bulb. Ra 80 colour rendering is enough to tell apart paving and planting colours below. The distribution is symmetrical and aimed downwards, with 0.3% of the flux escaping upwards, so light stays on the terrace and steps rather than above the roof. Output is dimmed on a DALI2 installation, which needs a controller in that standard. Where it works and what it suits The manufacturer intends Sol for outdoor and garden use, including the terrace and gazebo — anywhere it sits on a ceiling or soffit and lights the surface below. The form is modern: a smooth cylinder, no ornament, uniform matt black, the pale glass disc its only contrast. The Sol series also runs to white, graphite, aluminium and corten finishes and 4000 K versions, so lighting around a house keeps one shape. Build and weather resistance The painted aluminium profile, silicone gasket under the glass and EPDM gland give an IP65 rating — it mounts with no shelter above, where it meets jets of water and dust. IK06 impact resistance and a −20 to +45 °C operating range cover winter and a south wall heated through summer.
