NUMINOS GIMBLE XL is a recessed ceiling downlight with a 19 cm trim ring, black throughout — black frame and black reflector. The reflector is gimballed inside the ring, so after installation it shows tilted rather than flush with the ceiling plane. The driver is bought separately The fitting is protection class III and takes a constant current of 1000/1050 mA — it is not wired to 230 V directly. The LED driver is not part of the package: SLV lists it in a separate accessories block under its own article number. Without a driver matched to that current the fitting cannot be switched on, so it has to be planned in alongside. The connection lead is 10 cm, which means the driver has to sit immediately above the cut-out or within reach of an extension made by the electrician. The opening it needs A round hole 17.5 cm across is cut in the ceiling and the 19 cm ring covers its edge. Above the ceiling the fitting occupies 13.2 cm of height and stands only 0.3 cm below — the first figure is the one to compare with the space over your plasterboard or suspended ceiling. The whole fitting weighs 0.86 kg, so the choice of position turns on the depth available above the ceiling rather than on what the board will carry. How much light it gives The built-in LED module draws 37.4 W and delivers 3300 lm — as much as four old 60 W bulbs once gave, concentrated at one point. There is no lamp socket and no bulb to buy. 2700 K is warm white with a yellow cast, and a colour rendering index of Ra 90 means colours under this light read almost as they do in daylight — which matters where fabric, wood or displayed goods are lit. The beam angle is 20°, so the light lays down a defined pool instead of spreading through the room. Glare stays at UGR 22 or below. Aiming it after installation The reflector tilts through 60° and rotates through 355° within the ring.
