HORN 1 is a round recessed luminaire in steel, painted matt white. The lamp sits set back deep inside a conical body, so it is out of sight when the ceiling is viewed from an angle. The fitting is fixed — the direction of the light cannot be changed once it is in. Cut-out and installation depth The ceiling needs a round cut-out 7.5 cm across. The trim ring measures 8.3 cm, so it covers the edge of the hole with 4 mm to spare all round. Above the ceiling the manufacturer asks for 13.5 cm of clear space — the figure to check in a suspended ceiling before the hole is cut. Two spring clips hold the fitting by bracing against the ceiling board, so no screws or extra frame are needed. The whole fitting weighs 0.16 kg. Which lamp fits and how it is powered The luminaire has one GU10 lampholder and takes QPAR51 reflector lamps up to 50 W. It runs straight off mains at 220–240 V ~50/60 Hz, so it needs no driver or transformer. In the datasheet the manufacturer lists the recommended lamp as a separate article: LED QPAR51 GU10 at 2700 K, index 1005076. Colour and output are therefore chosen with the lamp — 2700 K is warm light with a distinctly yellow cast. Where the light goes, and what the fitting will not do Emission is direct: all the light goes downwards, in the cone set by the beam angle of the QPAR51 you choose. Setting the lamp back reduces glare when the fitting is seen at an angle, at the cost of a slightly narrower pool of light than a lamp sitting flush with the ceiling. The manufacturer states plainly that the luminaire does not support DALI control. Dimming therefore depends entirely on the lamp and on the dimmer in the installation. Build and wiring The body is steel finished in matt white; once installed only the flat trim ring is visible. The supply cable enters a connection box carried on a bracket above the body.
