The MOON 28 is a round ceiling light 28 cm across and only 9 cm deep: a flat opal white shade shaped like a flattened dome, held in an aluminium ring. The light source is built in permanently, so the fitting arrives ready to wire up. How much space it takes and how it mounts At 28 cm across and 9 cm deep the fitting sits almost flush with the ceiling — a size for the low ceilings of a bathroom or a hallway, where a pendant would eat headroom. It weighs 0.43 kg net, so an ordinary ceiling fixing carries it. The MOON 28 screws into place and is wired permanently into the installation — there is no plug and no flex with a switch. The connection is made once, at the ceiling box. How much light it gives The built-in LED module draws 9 W and gives 660 lm — less than an old 60 W bulb, so brightness for a small bathroom or a corridor rather than for lighting a large room. 3000 K is warm white: noticeably warmer than daylight, without the yellow cast of 2700 K. The beam angle is 120° and the opal shade spreads the output evenly across the whole surface, so the fitting lights the room generally instead of dropping a pool of light beneath it. The diodes cannot be changed: when the module is spent, the whole fitting is replaced. The maker has not provided for dimming, so a dimmer will not work on this fitting. Where it may be installed IP44 protects against splashing water from any direction, and the manufacturer classes the MOON 28 as bathroom lighting — it may sit above a basin or in the bath area, outside the reach of the shower spray.
