Tottori IL is a ceiling light 10 cm across and just under 4 cm deep — a black, round aluminium body in a textured matt finish, closed underneath by an opal diffuser that spans the whole lower face. The light source is a built-in LED module, so the fitting arrives ready to wire. How big it is and how it mounts At 10 cm across, the fitting takes up less ceiling than a saucer and stands 3.8 cm clear of it. It is made for places where there is nothing for a large lamp to light: over a basin, over an entrance, or in a run of several along a corridor. Mounting is on the surface — the fitting fixes straight to the ceiling and needs neither a cut-out nor room above the board, which is what separates it from a recessed downlight. The driver is built in and the fitting connects to 230 V mains; no separate transformer has to be bought. What light it gives The manufacturer states 1219 lm at 10 W. That is well above the old 60 W incandescent, which gave roughly 800 lm — bright for a fitting only 10 cm across. Colour temperature is 4000 K, neutral white: without the yellow cast of warm sources and without the blue of cold ones. The opal diffuser covers the module across its full width, so the light comes out spread downwards rather than as a narrow beam. The LED module cannot be replaced — when it reaches the end of its life the whole fitting is changed. The manufacturer gives it a five-year warranty. Where it suits An IP44 rating means protection against splashing water from any direction, so the fitting may hang in a bathroom — outside the shower zone itself, which IP44 does not cover. Beyond the bathroom the manufacturer directs it at corridors, where the flat body sitting close under the ceiling is what counts. Body, diffuser and mounting parts are made of aluminium, steel, acrylic and PVC. The black coating has a visible texture, so it reflects less than a smooth finish.Mostra di più
