Max Light Amalfi I P0577 Pendant Light Natural Woven Paper 45 cm
Amalfi I is a pendant light with a shade woven from paper cord in a natural, light beige tone. The shade is 45 cm across and 20 cm deep, and its lower edge is wavy rather than cut level. The suspension and the canopy are white, setting them apart from the warm colour of the weave. How large it is and how high it hangs Forty-five centimetres across keeps the proportion over a table 80–90 cm wide. Overall height is at most 165 cm and is shortened at installation — over a dining table the lower edge of the shade usually ends up 70–80 cm above the top, and higher in a living room so the fitting stays out of the line of sight. The shade is shallow and wide: at 20 cm deep it spreads sideways rather than down, so under a low ceiling it takes less room than a cone of the same diameter. What light the weave gives The cord is wound with gaps, so the shade does not hide the source — some of the light passes between the strands and draws bands across the ceiling and walls. The bulb is visible through the weave, so how it looks counts here as much as the colour of its light. The fitting takes one bulb with an E27 thread up to 15 W, and none is supplied, so colour and brightness are yours to choose. The 15 W limit is low because the shade is paper — in practice that means an LED: an incandescent bulb at that wattage would give about 100 lm, while a 15 W LED reaches around 1500 lm. The manufacturer does not provide for a dimmer. Material, style and where it can hang Woven paper cord on a metal frame is a boho build: natural material, a visible weave and an irregular edge. The warm beige of the weave sits with wood and linen, and the white flex holds it against a light ceiling. IP20 means mounting in dry interiors only — paper takes neither steam nor damp, so this light should not hang over a bath, in a shower or over a hob.
