Name: Lutec SPIRE 5290603012 outdoor wall light, black aluminium, E27, IP44
Brand: Lutec

SPIRE is an outdoor wall light shaped like a square-section lantern with a sloping top, screwed flat to the wall on its own mounting plate. The body is aluminium in matt black and the sides are closed with clear polycarbonate, through which the inside of the fitting and the bulb in it are visible. Which bulb you have to buy for it The fitting has one E27 socket and is sold without a light source. The manufacturer allows an LED bulb of up to 10 W — that is a ceiling, not the fitting's own consumption, so nothing stronger should go in. Ten watts of LED gives roughly as much light as an old 60 W incandescent: enough for a doorway and a few metres of drive. Because the bulb is chosen separately, the colour of the light and whether it can be dimmed depend on it — dimming needs a bulb marked as dimmable and a dimmer in the circuit. The clear sides leave the envelope itself in view, so a decorative bulb with a visible filament reads very differently here from a frosted globe. Where it can go An IP44 rating means protection against splashing water from any direction — the fitting suits a facade, a doorway, a terrace or a balcony, but not a position where it is hosed down. The manufacturer gives an operating range of −20 to +50 °C, so leaving it outdoors over winter is provided for. The lantern is 17.5 cm high and 12.3 cm wide and stands 14.3 cm off the wall. Compare those 14.3 cm with the width of the passage beside your door or with the window reveal, because that is the dimension that decides whether the lantern is in the way. The luminaire is protection class I, so an earth conductor has to reach the connection box. Build and care Aluminium does not rust, and clear polycarbonate does not shatter on impact and does not change the pattern of the light. Near the coast the manufacturer advises wiping the fitting regularly with a dry cloth, because humidity and salt speed up corrosion — away from such positions ordinary cleaning is enough.Mostra di più
