CHOIX 175 is a flat outdoor wall light of die-cast aluminium in anthracite. It is 17,5 cm long and 9 cm high and stands only 2,8 cm off the wall. It lights in two directions — up and down — through narrow slots along the top and bottom edges of the body. The light it gives The built-in LED module draws 10 W and delivers 660 lm at 3000 K, a warm, slightly yellow light. This is not a fixture for lighting a whole yard: the output runs up the wall and down it in two cones, drawing a bright field on the facade rather than lighting the space in front of it. That distribution is what decides the spacing. Several units hung at equal intervals give the wall a repeating rhythm of light patches — hence the usual placement along a terrace wall, by an entrance and on a fence, where the point is to lead the eye rather than to add brightness. Where it may be fitted The IP54 rating means protection against dust and against water splashed from any direction, so the fixture can hang on a wall with no roof over it. The die-cast aluminium body is continuous, with no glass parts to be careful of outdoors. It runs straight off a 230 V supply — no separate driver to buy, because one is built in. At 580 g and 2,8 cm deep the fixing puts little load on the wall and does not get in the way in a narrow passage, by a gate or on a balcony. Light source and service life The diode is fitted permanently and comes with the fixture, so it lights as soon as it is wired and there is no bulb to replace. The manufacturer quotes a life of up to 20 000 hours — after that the whole fixture is changed, not the source. The anthracite finish and the plain rectangular shape make the fixture read clearly against light render, while on a dark facade it nearly disappears.
