MAUT is an oval dining table in a uniform, light cashmere finish. The top rests on two wide panel legs in the same colour rather than on four separate legs. Extended, its length grows from 140 to 200 cm. How much room it needs in the dining area Closed, the table is 140 cm long; extended, 200 cm; across it measures 90 cm either way. Add the space for pulling chairs back and walking behind them: allowing 80 cm of clear passage on each side, the extended table needs a footprint of roughly 360 by 250 cm. The top sits at 77 cm, 2 cm higher than a standard dining table. Chairs with a 44–47 cm seat, normally chosen for a 75 cm top, still work here — there is simply a little more knee room underneath. How the extension works and where the leaves go The top slides apart on metal runners and two 30 cm leaves fill the gap. The manufacturer states that the table has no internal housing for them — both panels have to be kept away from the table the whole time it stands closed, so it is worth picking a cupboard shelf for them before buying. Extended, the manufacturer allows for up to ten people at this table. Finish, weight and care The edges of the top and of the legs are rounded, and everything stays in one matt cashmere shade — no contrasting frame and no visible hardware. The legs end in glides that protect the floor when the table is moved. The table weighs 65 kg, so carrying it in and positioning it is a two-person job.
